AUSTIN, Texas – University (of Texas) FCU said this morning it signed with Diebold to provide its fleet of more than 100 Opteva ATMs, including four Interactive Financial Centers, or tellerless branches, with a variety of maintenance, security and compliance services.

Recent technology enhancements, including the addition of Diebold’s Opteva machines, have elevated the role of the credit union’s self-service channel, prompting it to reduce the complexity of managing its fleet. "Our ATM network has expanded with the recent openings of four Interactive Financial Centers that rely heavily on self-service solutions,” said Steve Kubala, senior vice president, virtual retail, at the $1.6 billion credit union. “Diebold assisted with the design and implementation of our IFC tellerless branches, and now the company will reduce demands on our staff to service and manage terminals at those branches and across our fleet.”

Diebold will maintain up-to-date anti-virus software on the credit union's terminals using ATM Endpoint Protection by Symantec. Diebold will also confirm all programs have the latest security patches through its software deployment service. University Federal will be able to view ATM compliance status updates and track usage, cash utilization and other statistics via Diebold's Services Electronic Reporting Access System.

Diebold's OpteView Resolve ATM management monitoring solution will help improve the uptime of University Federal's ATMs. The solution allows Diebold to identify and diagnose ATM errors, enable remote fixes and automatically deploy service technicians when needed.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
