TINTON FALLS, N.J. -- With two weeks still left in United Teletech Financial FCU’ Million Dollar Community Challenge, the $1 million dollar goal has been reached.

Hundreds of members have taken the Challenge to contribute to the $1 million in interest expense savings.

Members are saving with two qualifying loans: the TimeShifter Mortgage loan and the Cut The Card personal loan. The TimeShifter mortgage can reduce mortgage terms – potentially saving the consumer thousands in interest expense. The Cut The Card loan helps individuals consolidate personal or credit card debt at a lower interest rate than many credit card companies offer. Its fixed rate payment plan lowers interest while increasing cash flow.

The campaign, which started at the beginning of the summer, challenged community members to unite to save a million dollars in interest expense. This year is the second annual Challenge. Last year’s Challenge saved members more than $1.83 million.

The $1 Million Challenge continues through Sept. 29, so there is still time to save on interest expense.
