PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. – A teller at Baker FCU pleaded guilty last week to theft and forgery charges for stealing almost $74,000 from elderly members.

Lisa Frace, 33, pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft and six counts of forgery, and the additional 29 counts of forgery were dismissed.

Police started an investigation after a member reported a suspicious withdrawal made from her account. Authorities discovered that thousands had been taken from the account, and that she'd made about 75 withdrawals, often forging the customer's name on the withdrawal slip. Police also found that she signed up several customers for online banking without their consent.

She must also pay as much as $74,000 to the victims of the thefts, according to the plea agreement.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 25.
