General CU Upgrades Website
FORT WAYNE-General Credit Union said it has improved its website at www.gencu.org. Aside from an upgraded and updated look, the new website is the result of research and feedback from members with an emphasis on making the site easier to use. The site also includes links to General CU videos.
4 CUs Implement Mobile Apps
EAST LANSING, Mich.-Credit unions that have recently implemented mobile banking apps for members include MSU FCU, Idaho Central CU in Pocatello, Idaho, River City FCU in Plano, Texas, and Dow Chemical Employees' CU in Midland, Mich.
Standardized P2P Endorsed
WASHINGTON-NAFCU has endorsed proposed rules that would standardize the process for P2P payments. The proposed rule will standardize the use of the ACH Network for P2P payments by creating a Standard entry Class Code to be used for P2P credit transactions sent from the consumer's DDA; establish standardized formatting requirements for WEB credit; ensure that WEB credits and debits contain a value that lets the receiver know that the entry is a P2P transaction; clarify rules for Notifications of Change; create a new code to enable the originator to provide a URL link to additional payment related information, and allow an Addenda Record for a WEB credit to contain more information in free form text.
Scan Palm, Use The ATM
TOKYO-Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has introduced ATMs that allow customers to withdraw cash, make deposits and check account balances by using biometric palm scans instead of ATM cards. The bank introduced the state-of-the-art machines at one branch and plans to expand its use to 18 other branches. To use the service, customers need to provide personal data such as their birthday, put their palm on the scanner and input their PIN to establish a biometric record of their palm.
