MCLEAN, Va.-SAGE Payment Solutions is putting R&D dollars toward technology that will allow credit unions to compete with big banks on payment processing.
Much of what SAGE offers today lets credit unions go toe-to-toe with banks, emphasized President Greg Hammermaster. But what's coming in the second half of 2010 will extend an advantage for CUs. "With SAGE Exchange we now have turnkey data integration. So as business customers set up their payments environment, and if they use the SAGE accounting system on the back-end, they see data integration as they acquire those payments."
As the year progresses, Hammermaster said that SAGE will integrate incremental forms and methods of payments into its accounting system. "This is a significant development in the payments industry. There is no payment provider today that has this level of data integration within the accounting system. So we think this will help credit unions differentiate and put them in a lead position when it comes to payments processing."
Hammermaster noted that the newly launched SAGE Exchange offers an end-to-end encrypted payment environment that leverages tokens in place of sensitive credit card numbers.
Hammermaster is not only optimistic about his company's business for the second half, but CUs' as well, noting volume at CU clients has been increasing month over month. For info: www.sagepayments.com
