OneAZ Credit Union partners locally to spur economic growth
OneAZ Credit Union in Phoenix is helping Arizona’s local economy through new partnerships with nonprofit Local First Arizona and clothing company State Forty Eight.
The partnerships allow funds to remain within local markets since members are shopping and banking locally, according to Dave Doss, president and CEO of OneAZ Credit Union. This results in economic vitality, Doss continued.
"The more dollars staying in the state, the more prosperous our economy becomes,” Doss said in a statement on Tuesday.
The credit union will team up with Local First Arizona to raise awareness of positive economic impact during the one-year partnership. The duo will work on educational podcasts, digital content, networking and financial literacy events. The two will also have a presence at the Arizona Good Business Summit and the Rural Policy Forum.
"Through years of encouraging Arizonans to buy local, we are also excited to champion the importance of choosing local financial options, like one OneAZ Credit Union, who supports our vision for Arizona," Thomas Barr, executive director of Local First Arizona, said in a press release.
State Forty Eight joins the effort with a new t-shirt collection commending the efforts $2.1 billion-asset CU. Associates of the credit union will wear the shirts. A credit card with State Forty Eight is also in planned.
"We launched State Forty Eight out of a passion for our community, so we're thrilled to be partnering with OneAZ Credit Union," Michael Spangengberg, co-founder of State Forty Eight, said in a statement. "Their vision aligns with our mission of celebrating our great state and their all-local financial offerings empower Arizonans to realize their dreams."
