Last Chance For Holiday Loans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-121 Financial CU was offering holiday loans to members until January 31, 2013. Rates are as low as 8% fixed for a 12-month term, and loans from $500-$2,500 are available. There are no restrictions on what the funds can be used for.

Baxter Offers Online Investing

VERNON HILLS, Ill.-Baxter CU here has partnered with TD Ameritrade to offer online investing services to members. Self-directed traders can trade stocks at $8 for internet equity and options trade, which represents a 20% discount from the retail trading rate.

Free financial educational resources, portfolio planning and management tools, market information and more are also available at no additional cost to members. BCU members with existing TD Ameritrade accounts are also eligible. Those members have 90 days to alert TD Ameritrade to their member status at the CU in order to receive the preferred pricing.

MSUFCU Upgrades Platinum Card

EAST LANSING, Mich.-Michigan State University FCU has upgraded its Platinum Plus Visa card, doubling member rewards to 1% back. Participating cardholders also have the opportunity to earn additional rewards by shopping at select local retailers. St Mary's Puts ATMs In Airport

MANCHESTER, N.H.-St. Mary's Bank, the nation's first credit union, has begun operating two ATMs at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The CU was awarded three-year contracts for the two machines. One ATM is in the main concourse near security-available only to ticketed passengers-while the other is near baggage claim and available to the public.

St. Mary's Marketing Director Elizabeth Stodolski said that the new ATMs have not only expanded the CU's reach to local residents, but also to out-of-town visitors traveling through the airport during the holiday season.

NEFCU Teams Up With READ

WESTBURY, N.Y.-NEFCU has partnered with Rosyln's Educatioanl Advancement and Development Foundation (READ) to boost funding for the Roslyn School District by offering a 1% cash rebate to the READ Foundation, which funds programs and capital projects within the district.

NEFCU automatically donates 1% of total qualifying purchases to READ as part of the READ Loyalty Credit Card Program. The card was designed by NEFCU specifically for this program and features the READ and Rosyln bulldog logos.

FPCU Rolls Out Platinum Rewards

DOWNEY, Calif.-Financial Partners CU has rolled out a Platinum Rewards Card program with rewards that do not expire-unlike other credit card rewards. FPCU members' daily spending earns them points toward merchandise, gift cards at participating merchants, Orbitz air travel and more. As long as members make at least one qualified purchase every 12 months, the rewards never expire.

CU ONE Expands Partnership

FERNDALE, Mich.-Credit Union ONE and First Bankcard, a division of First National Bank of Omaha, have broadened their partnership to include a new suite of credit card offerings issued by First Bankcard.

CU ONE now offers the Secured Visa, CU ONE American Express, CU ONE Graphite American Express and CU ONE Discover cards in addition to its existing card offerings.

Credit Union ONE is First Bankcard's first credit union partner.

IMCU Launches School Affinity Card

INDIANAPOLIS-Indiana Members CU now offers an affinity debit card for Noblesville High School. The card features the school's Millers mascot and is available to members at IMCU's Noblesville branch. Members can get the card on the spot through IMCU's new Instant Issue program.

SSFCU Launches Spanish Call Services

SAN ANTONIO-Security Service FCU has rolled out a Spanish-language version of its CallPlus service.

Gina Drake, manager of the CU's Member contact Center, noted that the number of members seeking Spanish-language services has increased significantly in recent months.

Members can use the service to obtain balance information, transfer funds, make payments and more, and a bilingual representative is available at all times.

Prepaid Card Prevents Drunk Driving

OMAHA-SAC FCU is selling prepaid cards to provide cab fare for local partyers who drink too much to drive home.

The I Cab Fare is a prepaid gift card accepted by Omaha's cab companies. The card costs as little as $20, but any card purchased through January 2013 will come with an additional $5. Authorities said the cards will not be used to track down people who have been drinking.

SC Fed Rebrands Investment Division

N. CHARLESTON, S.C.- South Carolina FCU has renamed its investment services division.

The service formerly known as MEMBERS Financial Services is now known as South Carolina Federal Investment Solutions. The same products and services are still available to all members and anyone within the credit union's field of membership.

TFCU Partners with CU Realty

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla.-Tropical Financial CU has partnered with CU Realty Services to help members buy and sell homes.

Direct from TFCU's website, members can access tools to search for new homes or to connect with a real estate agent. The service is designed to help CUs position themselves as members' first point of contact in the real estate process. Members of participating CUs can also access a network of approved Realtors, including agents offering discounts on commissions and lower closing costs for members.

Tropical Financial is the first CU in Florida to partner with CU Realty Services. The CUSO works with more than 100 credit unions nationwide.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn.-TopLine FCU has introduced TopLine Insurance Agency, LLC, a full-service, in-house agency offering home and auto insurance coverage. The agency is wholly owned but independent of the CU and adds new options for members delivered by CU professionals.

Insurance options are available from as many as 20 different carriers, including brands sucha s Metropolitan, Progressive, Safeco, Travelers and more. Options are also available from companies specializing in business insurance, RVs, collectors' vehicles and more.

First Tech Retools ATM Fleet

PALO ALTO, Calif.-First Tech Federal Credit Union has upgraded its ATM fleet to include envelope-free deposits; "dip card" readers-so members do not need to fully insert their card into the machines, and the ability to set personal preferences for fast cash and receipt printing, multiple transactions with one PIN entry and more.

First Tech FCU partnered with NCR and Companion Systems to develop and roll out the new fleet of enhanced ATMs and services.
