Service CU Adds Purchase Rewards
PORTSMOUTH, N.H.-Service CU here has launched Purchase Rewards, its new online rewards program for debit card use.
Purchase Rewards is built into the CU's online banking offering, and members earn rewards by using their Service CU debit card to purchase merchandise and services. The program is free, and members receive targeted offers to receive rewards based on their shopping history and spending patterns. Rewards are automatically deposited to the member's checking account the month after they redeem those offers.
The entire program is handled internally and securely, and no private information is passed outside the credit union.
Service CU has more than $2 billion in assets and serves members in various parts of New England, as well as members of the U.S. military and Department of Defense.
OnPoint Adds Rebate Visa
PORTLAND, Ore.-OnPoint Community CU now offers a Platinum Cash Rebate Visa card, which gives members a 1% cash rebate on all new purchases and a 3% cash rebate on purchases from eligible gas, grocery and drug store merchants during the first six months.
CWOFCU, City Partner On Loans
ALEXANDRIA, Va.-CommonWealth One FCU has joined with the City of Alexandria and the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) to offer energy-efficiency loans under the Northern Virginia Home Performance with Energy Star Program.
LEAP will administer the program and eligible homeowners can receive loans of up to $20,000 for a maximum term of 10 years at rates between 4.9% and 7.9%, depending on if the homeowner lives in Alexandria or outside of the city. LEAP will provide energy assessments, recommend upgrades to maximize energy and refer homeowners to contractors that can assist with the necessary upgrades.

Technology CU Offering Preapprovals
SAN JOSE, Calif.-Technology CU is offering pre-approvals for home loans and a Quick Close Guarantee for qualified applicants. The CU is also offering a $500 gift card to any buyers whose purchase loans do not close within 10 business days.
Numark Asks, 'What's Your Score?'
JOLIET, Ill.-Numark CU here now offers free credit score analysis through its "What's Your Score" campaign. Membership at the CU is not required to participate, and consumers can call or stop by the CU to schedule an appointment to learn their credit score, how scores are determined and how to improve their credit score.
Luso Super Savers Debuts
PEABODY, Mass.-Luso American CU has launched its Luso Super Savers account for youths between ages 5 and 18. The account requires a $25 opening deposit and $25 minimum balance, and pays 2% interest (compounded monthly) up to $1,000 or the member's 18th birthday. Once the member exceeds $1,000 or turns 18, the account automatically converts to a regular savings account. Only one Super Saver account is allowed per qualifying member.
The CU held its first-ever Youth Week as a way to launch the offering and drum up excitement.
'Sharks' Card From 121 Financial
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-121 Financial CU, a sponsor of the Jacksonville Sharks team in the Arena Football League, has launched its official "Sharks" Visa credit card.
The card features the team's logo and colors, and applications are available at Sharks games, at any 121 branch or online at 121fcu.org. Consumers can receive a free 121/Sharks t-shirt just for applying, and an introductory 0% rate is available for the first six months for those who qualify.
Alabama Telco Rolls Out The Edge
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Alabama Telco CU has created The Edge account for teens age 13-19 to help them learn money-management skills. Account holders receive tips, videos, special contests and fun financial facts via the Edge Facebook page, and members who signed up by July 31 (with a minimum $25 deposit) received a free t-shirt as part of a summer promotion. Edge members also become eligible for more products as they age, including checking accounts, a student credit card and a cash incentive for referrals.
ATCU also made a 0% balance transfer offer on credit cards as a special summer promotion.
