TINTON FALLS, N.J.-United Teletech Financial is participating in the federal government's Home Affordable Refinance Program 2 (HAPR 2), allowing qualified members to refinance mortgages at low rates, including those homeowners that may owe more on their home than its current value.

Mortgages must be owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac to be eligible, and UTF will refinance up to 125% of the home's value, even for members that did not originate their loans at the credit union.

United Teletech Financial serves 21,000 members with $306 million in assets.

ATCU Expands Biz Offerings...

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Alabama Telco CU has expanded its business lending offerings to include commercial real estate loans, rental property loans, secured and unsecured lines of redit, term loans on vehicles and equipment and a Visa business credit card.

Alabama Telco CU serves more than 53,000 members with more than $580 million in assets.

SACRAMNTO, Calif.-Heritage Community CU has launched a business lending program, including commercial real estate loans (including rental properties), commercial vehicles and equipment and inventory purchases, as well as business credit cards.

HCCU has more than $200 million in assets and serves more than 16,000 members.

3.75% APR On Balance Transfers

NORTH CANTON, Ohio-First Ohio Community FCU is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a promotion of 3.75% APR on all balance transfers. The offer runs through Sept. 3 and will remain in effect through June 3, 2013. There are no balance transfer fees as part of the promotion.

St. Mary's Adds 'SaveUp'

MANCHESTER, N.H.-St. Mary's Bank, the nation's first credit union, now offers SaveUp, a program that rewards users for saving money.

Members can register for the rewards program directly through the CU's website (www.stmarysbank.com), and users receive credits each time they contribute to savings or retirement accounts, pay down debt or utilize SaveUp's financial education resoruces. Those credits can then be rdeemed to win everything from cash to cars, vacations and more.

Service CU Adds Purchase Rewards

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.-Service CU here has launched Purchase Rewards, its new online rewards program for debit card use.

Purchase Rewards is built into the CU's online banking offering, and members earn rewards by using their Service CU debit card to purchase merchandise and services. The program is free, and members receive trageted offers to receive rewards based on their shopping history and spending patterns. Rewards are automaticaly deposited to the member's checking account the month after they redeem those offers.

The entire program is handled internally and securely, and no private information is passed outside the credit union.

Service CU has more than $2 billion in assets and serves members in various parts of New England, as well as members of the U.S. military and Departmetn of Defense.

OCCU Offering 1% Rebate

PORTLAND, Ore.-OnPoint Community CU now offers a Platinum Cash Rebate Visa card, which gives members a 1% cash rebate on all new purchases and a 3% cash rebate on purchases from eligible gas, grocery and drug store merchants during the first six months.

Commonwealth One In Energy Program

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-CommonWealth One FCU has joined with the City of Alexandria and the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) to offer energy-efficiency loans under the Northern Virginia Home Performance with Energy Star Program.

LEAP will administer the program and eligible homeowners can receive loans of up to $20,000 for a maximum term of 10 years at rates between 4.9% and 7.9%, depending on if the homeonwer lives in Alexandria or outside of the city. LEAP will provide energy assessments, recommend upgrades to maximize energy and refer homeowners to contractors that can assist with the necessary upgrades.

Quick Close Guarantee Touted

SAN JOSE, Calif.-Technology CU is offering pre-approvals for home loans and a Quick Close Guarantee for qualified applicants. The CU is also offering a $500 gift card to any buyers whose purchase loans do not close within 10 business days.
