RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees’ CU on Monday celebrated the grand opening of the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, a $3.5-million project financed with the help of a $1-million grant from the SECU Foundation.

SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, which officials said was named in honor of SECU members for their generous campaign donations, is described as an inpatient hospice care center for patients in the Brunswick County area. It includes seven private patient and family suites, and numerous shared areas designed to meet the needs of those at the center and their visiting caregivers, loved ones and families.

The SECU Foundation also has provided $2 million to a hospice project in Winston-Salem, $1 million to a project in Newport, and separate grants to hospice projects in Kings Mountain, Hudson and Shelby, N.C.
