ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NCUA Board is expected at next week’s meeting to approve two large community charters, one for Atlantic FCU in New Jersey and the other for The Focus FCU in Oklahoma.

The proposed Atlantic FCU charter would allow the $275 million Kenilworth, N.J.-based former AT&T employees credit union to serve 1.3 million people in New Jersey’s Essex and Union counties.

The proposal for The Focus FCU would allow the $90 million Oklahoma City-based hospital employees credit union to serve 1.2 million people surrounding Oklahoma City.

The NCUA Board will also consider a new rule that will instruct what parameters credit unions must use when buying investments, since they are longer required to use the ratings of Wall Street agencies.
