ROCKVILLE, Md. – The National Institutes of Health FCU has hired a real estate consultant, Scheer Partners, to find it a 20,000-square-foot property near the area’s biotechnical hub for a new headquarters.

The $570-million credit union, the nation’s largest credit union serving the biomedical and healthcare industries, is located at 111 Rockville Pike, at Rockville Town Centre.

“The goal is to relocate closer to the health science and medical hub found on Research Boulevard and Shady Grove Road,” said Matt Brady, senior partner of Scheer, who will be representing the credit union. “The credit union is committed to expanding its business relationships and enhancing services to its members, and it believes it can achieve greater operational efficiencies in a newly designed facility along the Interstate 270 biomedical corridor.”

“A branch location on the first floor of this headquarters facility would represent an added enhancement, but it is not critical to the NIHFCU’s decision,” he said.
