LAKELAND, Fla. – Fast-growing MidFlorida CU will pick up two new branches and $46 million in assets with a merger of Bay Pines FCU, which serves the Bay Pines Veterans Administration complex.

MidFlorida, which is currently integrating the Tampa-area operations it acquired from Space Coast CU, entered the Tampa market last year with the acquisition of Bay Gulf FCU.

The $1.8 billion credit union, which is also scheduled to open a Plant City branch on Aug. 1, said it also has two other small mergers in the works.
