LAKELAND, Fla. – Members at two credit unions, on Florida’s Space Coast and the Gulf Coast, have approved mergers into MidFlorida CU, the fast-growing $1.8 billion credit union.

The deals will add members and branches of Indian River CU, a troubled $55 million credit union in Vero Beach, Florida’s East Coast; and of $46 million Bay Pines FCU.

The two acquisitions come as the credit union giant is in the process of integrating the Tampa-area operations it acquired in December from Space Coast CU.
