NEW BERLIN, Wis. – Fast-growing Landmark CU, just off its fifth merger in the past two years, has agreed to acquire Badger Campus CU, a $13-million credit union that formerly served employees of the University of Wisconsin and several of its offshoots.

The deal allows the $2.1-billion credit union to serve all of Dane and Iowa counties, and adds a branch in Madison and inside one of the Forest Product Lab buildings in Madison.

“This merger allows us to strategically expand our branch network,” said Jay Magulski, president of Landmark.

Campus Badger reported a loss of $205,000 for 2012 and a loss of $161,000 for 2011.

The deal comes just after Landmark was approved to acquire Dodge Central CU, giving it four new branches and an additional field of membership that includes all of Columbia, Marquette and Fond du Lac counties.

Landmark also is working on the acquisition of troubled $190-million Hartford (Wis.) Savings Bank.
