MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – Kinecta FCU has adopted Shastic’s Facebook lead generator, called Calcubot, which allows loan estimates to be saved and feedback to be solicited from friends, family and advisors.

Calcubot directs prospects from Facebook to the credit union’s or bank’s online loan and new member application systems, the company said.

“Calcubot provides us an opportunity to tilt the balance of power in favor of credit unions when competing with large advertising budgets,” said Shannon Doiron, director of marketing and e-commerce at the $3.6-billion credit union.

End users such as Kinecta can install a credit union-branded version of Calcubot to their Facebook page, thus turning the credit union’s followers into a viral promotion network, Shastic said.

Shastic is based in Berkeley, Calif.
