WASHINGTON — Idaho regulator Mary Hughes was appointed to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council's State Liaison Committee Monday.

Hughes serves as the financial bureau chief of the Idaho Department of Finance, and was selected by the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors to represent the trade group on the State Liaison.

Hughes has been involved in financial regulation since 1990, when she was named deputy attorney general for Idaho's Department of Finance. She succeeds Thomas Candon, deputy commissioner of Banking and Securities of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation and will serve out the rest of his term, which runs through the end of March.
