WABASH, Ind.-Employees at Beacon CU here turned to the Passageways portal for merger help when the $800-million CU joined forces with DeKalb Financial CU in August, said Kathy Houghtalen, Beacon's project manager.

Beacon created a merger helpdesk on the portal, where employees could submit help tickets, explained Houghtalen.

"We could tell which branches were experiencing slowness, which employees had training issues or if the phone system or network was having problems."
