SALT LAKE CITY – Police say the two men dubbed the “Honey Bun Bandits” in a robbery and bomb scare at a Zions Bank branch Dec. 17 may also be connected to a holdup at Central CU 10 days later.

Police said the suspects accused of robbing Central CU match the description of two men who robbed the Zions branch.

In the Zions robbery, the two men left behind a wrapped Christmas package, claiming it was a bomb. The box was found to contain Honey Bun pastries, earning them the “Honey Bun Bandits” moniker.
