Dow Credit Union extends reach to three counties
Dow Credit Union in Antioch, Calif., expanded its field of membership to three counties.
The $46 million-asset institution said on Tuesday that it can now serve people who live, work or attend school in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. The move opens up its membership to more than 3.2 million people and is the largest expansion in Dow’s 81-year history.
Dow said in a press release that the addition was a natural fit for its membership base.
“We are very proud of what we have been able to do for our communities and are excited to be able to bring those opportunities to new areas,” Paul Kramer, Dow Credit Union CEO, said in the press release. “Serving Contra Costa, Solano and Alameda counties is a great opportunity for us and for these communities.”
Dow was originally founded to serve employees of Dow Chemical. In 2008, it expanded its charter to reach areas in eastern Contra Costa County.
The institution earned roughly $42,000 through the first six months of the year, down about 62% from the same period in 2018, according to call report data.
