ATLANTA – Delta Community CU has opened its 23rd metro Atlanta area branch in midtown’s historic district, across the street from The Margaret Mitchell House.

“Expanding into Midtown has been a goal for several years,” said Rick Foley, president of the $4.3-billion credit union, chartered to serve employees of nearby Delta Airlines.  “We took the time to find the right location to best serve our members who live and work in the heart of Atlanta.”

The new branch lies within the Midtown Mile, a coordinated redevelopment initiative that plans to deliver more than 1 million square feet of urban, street-level retail space spanning 14 consecutive blocks of Peachtree Street from 15th Street to North Avenue in Midtown Atlanta.

The new, 4,200-square-foot branch opened late last week and is planning a week of special grand opening events. On Aug. 11, parents are invited to bring children ages 12 and under to open new Sandy Savers savings accounts and receive a coloring book and Delta Community piggy bank. The first 25 children to open a Sandy Savers account on that day will receive a $50 deposit into their new accounts.
