FOSTER CITY, Calif. – Visa announced this morning that 50 financial institutions—more than half of them credit unions--have launched Visa’s V.me new digital wallet service, which frees online shoppers from having to repeatedly enter account numbers, bill-to and ship-to information at checkout, in time for holiday shopping.
Among the credit unions piloting the new online shopping service are: A+ FCU, Affinity Plus FCU, Alliant CU, America First CU, CEFCU, Commonwealth CU, Community Credit Union of Florida, Credit Union of Colorado, Deere Employees CU, Digital FCU, Directions CU, Greater Texas FCU, Michigan State University FCU, New Mexico Educators FCU, Members 1st FCU, Royal CU, State Employees CU of Maryland, Pentagon FCU, Meritrust CU and Motorola Employees CU.
Separately, Card Services for Credit Unions said this morning it is working with its credit union partners to enlist them in the new Visa service.
Credit unions will be able to enroll their existing Visa cardholders and other payment card accounts into V.me, allowing them to make purchases online by simply entering a user name and password at checkout. Once logged into V.me, all that's required to make a purchase is a simple click of a mouse, touch on a mobile browser, or in the future, a wave at the physical point-of-sale.
Members at these credit unions can easily enroll with V.me and begin shopping online from a PC, tablet or mobile phone. Consumers can visit www.V.me to enroll and shop immediately at any of the 23 top eCommerce retailers live with V.me, including 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Shoebuy.com, cooking.com, Rakuten Buy.com, Blue Nile, and many more.
