CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte Metro CU is launching an advertising campaign to tout its growth one year after Bank Transfer Day.

The direct mail campaign will target baby boomers, Generation X and millenials, the $290-million credit union said. Mailers will say the credit union offers better rates and better service than big banks while using similar technology.

The credit union said it has gained 3,000 members in the first half of this year, a 13% growth rate.
