JACKSON, Mich. – A former branch manager for EECU, A Community Credit Union, pleaded guilty in state court this morning to stealing more than $194,000 from member accounts.

Renee Mainstone, 45, of Battle Creek, confessed to siphoning funds from member accounts for her own use.

The embezzlement was discovered through the credit union’s internal controls and Mainstone was fired when the credit union discovered the thefts.

EECU emphasized that affected members were all reimbursed for the thefts.

Mainstone is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 13.
