HUNT VALLEY, Md. – Point Breeze CU, the one-time telephone workers credit union, said this afternoon it hired Bernard McLaughlin, head of $140 million Members First CU in Manchester, N.H., as president and CEO of the $725 million credit union.

McLaughlin succeeds Paul Torbeck, who retired in September as Point Breeze’s CEO.

Before leading Members First, McLaughlin worked for banks in Virginia, New Hampshire, and Kansas, where he focused on consumer, small business and mortgage lending.

Point Breeze is the sixth-largest credit union in greater Baltimore, with more than 48,000 members and three branches, in Hunt Valley, Rosedale and Bel Air.
