PHOENIX-Arizona State CU's "I Don't Bank, I Credit Union" award-winning ad campaign is getting the word out on the credit union difference.

The campaign garnered 13 Hermes Creative Awards, four of them platinum awards. The $1.35-billion credit union said the campaign was introduced to raise awareness about the importance of local financial cooperatives and proved so successful that the CU went on to make it the theme of its TV commercials, as well.

The credit union's communication plan related to its strategic partnership with the Arizona Sundogs hockey team also won a platinum award. Arizona State teamed up with the Sundogs to pay five hockey fan's mortgage payments throughout the season.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition honoring creative professionals who conceive, write and design traditional and emerging media. The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
