Catholic Vantage CU, Plymouth, Mich., held a "Credit Union Kids Day" for children age 5-10, which included a tour of the facility, story time and more.

Logan Hawley received a $2,000 scholarship from Community West CU, Grand Rapids, Mich. One other student and seven local teachers also received scholarships.

Representatives from the African-American CU Coalition took a tour of the headquarters at CU ONE, Ferndale, Mich., in conjunction with the ACUC's 15th Annual Conference in Detroit.

Connex CU, Guilford, Conn., donated more than $620 to the Connecticut division of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The donated funds were raised from fees collected by Connex's coin-cashing machine.

NuVision FCU, Huntington Beach, Calif., awarded scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 to seven local students as part of its 2013 Scholarship Program.

Signal Financial FCU, Kensington, Md., held its third annual Member Appreciation Week during July, thanking memebrs with refreshments and giveaways, as well as promotions on checking and credit cards.

Diversified FCU, Logansport, Ind., collected more than $1,000 in cleaning and hygiene products for the Emmaus Mission.

Fulton County FCU, Gloversville, N.Y., celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Georgia United Cu, Duluth, Ga., teamed up with Star 94 radio for a school supply drive, collecting more than 7,300 new school supplies and cash donations.

Mid-Hudson Valley FCU, Kingston, N.Y., awarded the 2nd Quarter 2013 Chairman's Award to Nicole Malcolm for her work as MSR Lead Teller.

Travis CU, Vacaville, Calif., collected more than 1,950 items for needy students as part of a "Stuff the Bus" back-to-school drive.

Washington Gas Light FCU, Springfield, Va., donated 300 composition books to support the Washington Gas Light 2013 School Supply Drive. Staff and members also helped fill backpacks with donated supplies and prepared the items to be shipped to Glassmanor Elementary School in Oxon Hill, Md.

TAPCO CU, Tacoma, Wash., donated six box sets of the "Biz Kid$" TV show to local Boys and Girls clubs, libraries and school districts.

Robins FCU, Forsyth, Ga., contributed $1,000 to the Monroe County Adult and Community Education (ACE) Dictionary and Thesaurus Program to help support literacy across Monroe County.

Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, held a backpack giveaway event, providing 4,000 backpacks and school supplies to local needy children.

LAFCU, Lansing, Mich., presented three women with $1,000 WHEEL scholarships, providing assistance to women who want to re-enter the workforce.

Keesler FCU, Biloxi, Miss., raised more than $16,000 to be donated to Combat Wounded Veterans of South Mississippi during its 2013 Keesler FCU Eagles on the Bay Golf Tournament. The CU also recently awarded $5,000 in scholarships to college-bound high school seniors.

More than 60 college students interned at CUNA Mutual Group during the summer, working in various business units serving CUs and the company. The interns also learned about CUNA Mutual's "Don't Tax My CU" initiative, designed to protect the credit union tax exemption.

Staff at Buckeye Community FCU, Perry, Fla., raised nearly $500 in donations and cash to send care packages to troops stationed in Afghanistan. This was the second time BCFCU has raised funds for the troops during the past year, and this photo was one of many the CU received from the troops in recognition of its efforts.

Monmouth FCU, Monmouth, Maine, held a blood drive that collected 16 units of blood, enough to save more than 45 lives.

Greater TEXAS FCU, Manor, Texas, and the Financial Opportunity Team at the United Way of Greater Austin presented Mark Mead with a new iPad Mini as the grand prize winner in the Bank On Central Texas raffle.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee recognized a collaboration between the United Way and Mission SF, Community Trust, a division of Self Help FCU, that provided summer youth workers with financial capability through the MY Path program.

Kelly Kalker won a $500 gas card from NuMark CU, Joliet, Ill., as part of its All American Sales event that took place in July. Other prizes included 0% APR on auto loans, baseball tickets and more.

US FCU, Burnsville, Minn., sponsored a Back to School Drive benefitting the Caring Tree, sponsored by radio station myTalk 107.1. More than 500 items were donated, along with a $500 donation from the credit union.

Kasey McCall, a member at Altura CU, Riverside, Calif., won $500 as the winner of the CU's monthly promotion to increase usage of its debit card.

Mortgage Service Provider First Heritage Financial, LLC, and Member Business Financial Services held a grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event with board members and staff from both companies present to celebrate their new shared location in Trevose, Penn.

Tonawanda Valley FCU, Batavia, N.Y., took part in National Night Out, supplying recycled jars and other supplies so children at the event could make their own piggy banks.
