State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C., said its employees donated nearly $71,000 to charities through the NCState Employees Combined Campaign and members contributed $60,000 toward the publication costs for the annual NCSECC Giving Guide. In other news, the credit union was honored with the 2012 Outstanding Business In Philanthropy award, provided a $2-million challenge grant for the construction of SECU Family House at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, provided assistance to 6,500 high school seniors with their efforts to submit online applications to state colleges and universities and won the 2012 Philanthropic Organization of the Year given by the Cape Fear Region Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
